BSED - 4th Year

Mrs. Alma D. Mercado, MAED, Program Head of the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English at Liceo de Davao, conducted a monitoring visit to Magdum National High School, Tagum City to oversee the progress of Field Study (FS) students. The visit aimed to assess how well the students are applying their academic learning in real classroom settings, as part of their preparation for the internship phase next semester. Mrs. Mercado engaged with both students and cooperating teachers, emphasizing the importance of reflective observation, classroom interaction, and professional conduct during the Field Study experience.

During the monitoring, Mrs. Mercado highlighted that Field Study serves as a vital bridge between theory and practice. It allows future educators to immerse themselves in the school environment, observe teaching strategies, and understand learner diversity. These experiences are essential in building the confidence and competence needed for their upcoming internship. She encouraged the students to take every opportunity to learn from their cooperating teachers and to treat the Field Study as a serious step toward becoming effective and compassionate educators.

Mr. Ebus Sandukan, School Head of Magdum National High School, expressed his appreciation for the partnership with Liceo de Davao, stating that it is an honor for their school to be chosen as a laboratory school.
