Senior High School TVL – Hairdressing NC II

The Technical–Vocational–Livelihood (TVL) Track, as outlined by the Department of Education, equips Senior High learners with industry-standard skills and national certifications that allow them to step confidently into the workforce, launch micro-enterprises, or pursue further studies. At Liceo de Davao, our Hairdressing NC II specialization elevates this vision by pairing hands-on salon training with values formation, community service, and a customer-centric mindset—preparing graduates who blend technical mastery with ethical professionalism.


Program Overview

The Hairdressing NC II course is a 320-hour, TESDA-accredited program designed to develop proficiency in hair care, cutting, styling, and salon operations. Students master fundamentals such as tool selection, sanitation, and scalp analysis before advancing to precision haircutting, creative styling, chemical treatments, and client consultations. Every module integrates Liceo’s core values—integrity, respect, and service—ensuring learners graduate as stylists who uplift both personal confidence and community well-being.


Curriculum & Competency Modules
  • Fundamentals of Hairdressing
    Introduction to agency and workplace safety, hair and scalp biology, tool maintenance, and client communication etiquette.
  • Haircutting Techniques
    Men’s and women’s basic cuts, layering, texturizing, and advanced scissor and razor methods for diverse hair types.
  • Hair Styling & Finishing
    Blow-drying, thermal styling, up-dos, braiding, and contemporary trends for weddings, media shoots, and special events.
  • Chemical Services
    Safe application of hair color, lightening, perming, and neutralizing treatments—coupled with protective measures and aftercare.
  • Salon Management & Client Relations
    Appointment scheduling, inventory control, record-keeping, upselling services, and cultivating a loyal clientele through exceptional service.

TESDA Partnership & Certification

In collaboration with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Liceo de Davao ensures each graduate is assessed against national competency standards. Upon program completion, students sit for the TESDA Competency Assessment and, upon passing, earn the National Certificate II in Hairdressing—a credential recognized by salons, spas, and wellness centers nationwide and internationally.


Learning Environment & Practicum

Our Briz Campus features a dedicated Salon Laboratory equipped with professional styling stations, high-grade hair care products, chemical processing areas, and client-simulation spaces. Small class sizes foster personalized coaching, peer feedback, and confidence building. In their final term, students undertake a supervised practicum at partner salons or community outreach hairstyling events—translating classroom skills into real-world experiences.


Career Pathways & Outcomes

Graduates of Hairdressing NC II can step into roles as junior stylists, salon assistants, color technicians, or mobile hairdressers. Many choose to open home-based studios or freelance, leveraging Liceo’s entrepreneurship workshops to market their brand. Others pursue advanced TESDA qualifications or complementary Wellness Massage NC II to broaden their service offerings.

Liceo de Davao is committed to accessible education. As a PEAC-certified school, we participate in the Senior High School Voucher Program:

  • 100% Free Tuition for incoming Grade 11 students from public schools and ALS completers
  • 70% Discount on tuition and fees for continuing ESC scholars and Qualified Voucher Recipients (QVR) from private schools
